Penetration Seals for Fire, Water & Air Pressure This class of sealants possesses the structural integrity allowing them to act as pressure seals as well as offering fire endurance. As with all two-part silicones we offer, they are introduced into the opening as a high dielectric strength liquid that cures in place. In general, these sealants all have a very low impact on cable ampacity, are naturally low in halogen content, and can tolerate axial movement with bond breakers.
45B Originally available through Techsil, it is offered in the original formulation. This sealant is suitable for applications where air or water-tight integrity alone or coupled with fire resistance is desired for non-moving penetrants. Its density is approximately 90 lbs. per ft3. The 45B has undergone significant radiation exposure testing to assure its stability in nuclear applications. 45B is easily installed, modified or repaired.

SF-60 Originally available through Brand Insulation Services (BISCO), it is offered in the original formulation. Like the 45B, it is suitable for applications where air or water-tight integrity alone or coupled with fire resistance is desired for non-moving penetrants. Its density is approximately 85 lbs. per ft3. The SF-60 has undergone thermal aging and radiation exposure to assure its stability in nuclear applications. Rated excellent for decontaminability, the SF-60 is easily installed, modified or repaired.

LDSE Similar to 45B, although exhibiting a lower density at approximately 55 lbs. per ft3., This sealant is also well suited for applications where air or water-tight integrity alone or coupled with fire resistance is desired for non-moving penetrants. The LDSE has undergone significant radiation exposure testing to assure its stability in nuclear applications. LDSE is easily installed, modified or repaired.
